No-Trash-Bash Update / Open Mic Afterparty Update

Two more shows under our belts since I last wrote. The No-Trash-Bash was a much more successful event than REOrientation, even though its timing was unfortunate--there was another rock show scheduled at the same time! No matter - roommates and friends of roommates came, as well as a host of people who came to see the jazz band after us but were early enough to catch most of our set. The Afro-cuban version of "Where Is My Mind" got a great reception, and I heard a lot of comments about Julia's spot-on two-note falsetto.

A mere five days later we packed up again to play at Anastasia's apartment for the FOTA Open Mic afterparty. The situation was a lot more intimate, and I found myself stressing out more over the organization of things. Finally we got started around 10:30 and kept the groove going until 11:30 or so, even after our real and "play" sets had been depleted. Anastasia and her roommate dragged me and Juanita and Julia into a bedroom to treat us to some green delicacies. While I was busy feeling like a rockstar, Dave and Seamus were still in the living room, jamming with some audience members, one of whom included Lana Harfoush of The (now-defunct, I think) Flying Fishes. Eventually I joined them and we played until about 2am when all Weezer covers had been depleted, etc. Thanks to all for coming to both of these shows, we've had a great time playing for a receptive audience!
